IRS commissioner Warns of Complicated, Possibly Delayed, Tax Season - The 2015 tax filing season  "will be one of the most complicated filing season we've ever had," IRS Commissioner John Koskinen said in a keynot address Tuesday to hundreds of attendees at the AICPA National Tax Conference in Washington.

You will need to use Form 8962 to reconcile the subsidies that were received in advance of taking the actual credit you are entitled to. The scamming phone calls continue!

 

Don't be deceived by threatening phone calls from scammers pretending to be from the IRS. Here are 5 ways to easily spot a scammer:

 

1. They call you about taxes you owe without first mailing you an official notice.

2. They demand that you pay taxes without giving you the opportunity to question or appeal the amount they say you owe.

3. They require you to use a specific payment method for your taxes, such as a prepaid debit card.

4. They ask for credit or debit numbers over the phone.

5. They threaten to bring in local police or other law-enforcement groups to have you arrested for not paying.
